How do you deliver the subtitle files and in what formats?
The Amara On Demand service includes a private space on the Amara platform to view, edit and download your subtitles whenever you need them in any or all subtitle formats (SRT, DFXP, SBV, web VTT, TXT, and SSA). Please, also inquire about custom caption/subtitle formats such as SCC, CAP, ITT and many others.
We also offer an integration to YouTube and Vimeo that allows your subtitles to be published automatically on your channel once complete.
Can I check or edit the subtitles?
Yes, you can review and edit your subtitles using our award-winning Amara Editor which is included in the service.
Can I request changes to the subtitles after delivery?
You can request non-stylistic corrections to the subtitles within 30 days of delivery at no extra charge.
Can my audience select the subtitles they want to watch the video in?
Yes, once you upload the subtitle files to the platform where you have your video hosted, your audience will have the option to turn on the CC option and select the language of the subtitles.
How are your subtitling rates calculated?
• Based on the actual length of the videos.
• Runtime is calculated to the second.
• Rates depend on the requested languages.
What’s your turnaround time for human-created subtitles?
Standard turnaround times: 6 - 8 business days total (including required source track) for projects 30 minutes or less in length. Please add 1 business day for each additional 30 minutes.
Rush turnaround times: 3 business days total (including required source track) for content of 30 minutes or less. Please add an additional day for each additional 30 minutes.
Do you support SDH subtitles?
Yes, we support SDH (Subtitles for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing). If you select this option, they will include: • Subtitle tags to identify speakers not visually clear to clarify who is speaking. • Subtitle tags to describe sounds and music, which are relevant to the plot of the video and cannot be visually identified. • Italics which indicate when the speaker is not present in the scene (like flashbacks, narration, etc.)
Can you deliver subtitles burnt into the video?
Yes, we can deliver captions and subtitles burnt-in or hard-coded into the video. Please inquire about this service if needed.
What if I have specific custom glossaries or style guides?
Please share them and we will be happy to create your subtitles according to your specifications.
Can I create my own subtitles on Amara?
Absolutely, we offer both professional subtitles as well as a team space for you and your team to create your own subtitles. Many people combine our professional services and our Amara Platform offering, which allows them to build and manage their own team of in-house linguists.
